Pachypodium lamerei (Madagascar Palm)

 Pachypodium lamerei. Madagascar Palm. Phonetics- (Pakee, poey dee um). Belongs to Apocyanceae (apossy nacee) family. Origin is from Madgaskar Island. RHS has awarded it with AGM- Award of Garden Merit. Have few leaves at the top of brown stem. Used in succulent garden and decorative containers. 

Sandy and gravelly well drained soil. Ph alkaline. Flourishes under sun and partial shade. Almost disease free.  Mature plant bloom in summers – after 10 years. 

During/ frost Winters move it into the house. Water requirement low. Drought tolerant. Maintenance is low. Patio plant.  Due to its leaves location- it is called as palm. Its parts are poisonous. 

A species of flowering plants.
