Golden Cane Palm- Clean air inside the house

Golden Cane Palm

  • It's botanical name is Dypsis (Dip-sis) lutescens (loo-TEHS-enz). Also named as Areca Palm, Butterfly Palm and Madagascar Palm. At local nursery it is called Golden palm. It is conducive to climate of Lahore and seen around. (USA hardiness Zone 9a- 11). Belongs to family Arecaceae

Dombyea- Pink Ball. A pink charm during the winters!

Dombeya- A flowering shrub/ tree

  • Dombeya has many varieties and cultivars. Its botanical name is Dombeya-x cayeuxii. Other names are Tropical Hydrangea, Pink-Ball. Local name (dom- bia). It thrives well in Lahore ( USA Hardiness Zone, 9b- 11). Belongs to Malvaceae family. It is shrub come tree. Can grow upto 20 ft. It is also a foliage plant being evergreen. Needs an average water.  Enjoy the pictures.

Cycas Rumphii- Gracing undauntedly for -164- years. Let us celebrate!

Cycas rumphii- (SyKas Rum Fee eye)

  • Cycas rumphii has many names Ceylon Sago, False Sago, False Sago-Palm, Queen Sago, Spiny-Leaved Cycas. Conducive to Lahore(USA Hardiness Zone 9b- 11). Just watch the grace in Bagh e Jinnah. Few glimpses to excite you all to visit the grace. 

Can grow in full sun, partial or Light shade.

Alpinia shrub- Evergreen

Alpinia (ul-PIN-E-Ah) Sanderae 
  • It is a must plant for landscapes, adds brightly to the other plants. It is also known as ginger. It grows well in Lahore.(USA Hardiness Zone 9a- 11). It belongs to Zingiberaceae family. At local nurseries it is called Alaichee or Alpinium

Golden Shower Tree - Amaltas 

  • It has many names such as Purging Cassia, Golden Chain Tree, Indian Laburnum. Its botanical name is Cassia fistula. Widely grown in Lahore as ornamental tree.Conducive to Z 9b- 11(USA Hardiness). Has medicinal value. 

Can grow up to 40 feet. Bright yellow bloom. Late spring and mid summer.
