Butea frondosa or Dhak tree- Gold Orange Beauty Shower

Flame of the Forest, Dhak Tree


  • Botanical name is Butea monosperma or butea frondosa. Belongs to Papilionaceae family. Its common names are Flame of the Forest, Parrot Tree, Bastard Teak. Local name is Dhak. Lahore climate is conducive for this plant. (USA Hardiness Zone 10a- 11). It is an ornamental tree which has many medicinal properties associated.  Has winter interest.

 
Bloom colors- scarlet, gold, red, orange.
